MAY 10, 2008 (St. Albans, WV) - Rod and the R1 Race Team went to 201 Speedway in Sitka, KY for the 50-lap $5,000 to win event sanctioned by the Independent Racing Series (IRS).  Out of the 37 cars from seven states that were in attendance, Rod finished 3^rd from the 3^rd group qualifying set of heats.  He started 13^th in the feature event, and decided to move to the high side since most everybody else was trying to run the bottom of the track.  Rod couldn't progress forward on the high side, and ended up falling back to 17^th by the end of the race.  We're hoping for better luck next weekend.  For more information on the event, you can check it out at http://www.irsracing.net.
